NOTE

As off Sept. 23, 2009, Avery Creek Road (FS 477) is closed just past the Horse Stables due to the mudslide shown below. Coming from the north, it is closed off at the point where the Buckhorn Trailhead meets FS 477.

Update, March 27, 2011: See the bottom picture for an update on how far along repairs are. The steep, washed out bank has been rebuilt, and the road has a fresh layer of gravel. Perhaps opening soon??
